NMHA COMPETITIVE COACHES 2024/2025
We are extremely proud to announce our competitive head coaches for the upcoming season in the U13, U15
and U18 divisions. U11 Development coaches will be announced at a later date. All of these coaches are
nonparents of players in their age group and have significant experience and the level they are taking on and
above in their careers. With tryouts on the horizon at the end of August we are all looking forward to another
great season for our kids.
U18 Regional Tier 1
Max Creighton is an alumni of NMHA and has most recently been behind the bench as an assistant coach
with the Oceanside Generals of VIJHL for 2 very successful season. Max is excited to come back to minor
where his career started and getting to work with a very promising group of U18’s this coming season.
U18 Tier 2
Darcy Gudmundson is returning for his 2nd season with NMHA. Darcy moved here last summer from Medicine
Hat, AB and has experience running U18 programs in Hockey Alberta and last year did a great job leading our
U13 Tier 3 program. We are looking forward to having him with this group of players.
U15 Regional Tier 1
Mike Kirby is returning to lead our regional U15 program for a 2nd season. Mike enjoyed a successful playing
career in the BCHL that led to an NCAA scholarship at Mercyhurst. He is excited to work with the motivated
players at this level and show them what it takes to achieve their goals.
U15 Tier 2
Ryan Rainford is back for a 2nd season leading our U15 Tier 2 program. Ryan is originally from London, ON and
moved here last summer after working in the Burnaby Minor Hockey Association. Ryan is a great leader for
kids and is looking forward to another great season of development.
U13 Regional Tier 1
Cory Russell is returning to NMHA for his 3rd consecutive season after previously working at the U18 and U11
Development levels. Cory is a detailed coach who cares about his players and will continue their
development of learning the game at this level while still focusing on development.
U13 Tier 2
Troy Muspratt is returning to NMHA for his 2nd season after leading our U11 Development B program to a
successful season. Troy has experience in both Hockey Alberta as well as USA Hockey in leading a variety of
programs.
