Hockey Day in Nanaimo – Jan 18th Schedule

Every Minor Hockey Association celebrates Minor Hockey Week in Canada supported by Hockey Canada, Our Junior Teams WHL and the NHL contributed this Program.

It’s about giving back to the kids making sure they have fun day playing hockey and watching their Mentors play.

Mentor Games (Feature Games)

Feature games are slotted all day, this is a chance for younger players to watch skilled games which gives incentives for their Future hockey experience.

Feature Game’s this weekend are The Bantam Tier  ##2 playing at 2:00pm Bantam Bantam Tier#1 playing at 4:15pm both at Nic #1

The North Island Impact Girls Midget Tier#1 are Playing Cowichan Valley Bantams at 1:00pm at Nic #2

Peewee Tier#1 and Tier#2  Atom Tier #1 also play on Saturday

Nanaimo Minor Hockey along with help of many Local Sponsors provide a full day fun, snacks and refreshment for the kids, each player will receive a Hockey Day Wooden Token and the Coaches will receive a Tim Card.

Our Event kicks off Jan. 18th,  Minor Hockey Week officially starts Monday Jan 19th- 25th

Coaching Certifications – keeping current

This document is very important for ALL coaches in our association, it outlines on page 2 thru 5 the details of remaining current with your coaching status.

NCCP Info

Coaches who hold any recreational Coaching course must complete 10 Professional development points(PDP) every 5 years.

Coaches who hold Development 1/Intermediate (competitive)must complete MED, online evaluations and 20 PDP.

On page 6 the MED course that must be completed by all coaches who currently hold the Development 1 coaching course.
