Attention all Hockey Fans,
We are thrilled to announce a few exciting promotions for our upcoming hockey game on Saturday, December 21st for the Nanaimo Steelmen vs the Lake Cowichan Appollos. This will be the senior men’s team final game for 2024 and would love for you all to join us. Puck drop is at 7:15 PM at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.
We have a special promotion for members of the Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association. Adults can get in for just $5.00, and players wearing a jersey will receive free entry to the game. It’s our way of showing appreciation for the support of our local hockey community.
Not only will you get to enjoy an action-packed match, but you also have the chance to win free tickets to the Vancouver Canucks vs Utah Hockey club game on March 16th. Every ticket purchased for our December 21st game will count as an entry into the giveaway. Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity to watch VIJHL, BCHL, WHL, VIU, and of course Nanaimo Minor Hockey League players in action!
The Steelmen will also be hosting our first annual teddy bear toss with all proceeds being donated to the Eden Gardens Dementia Care Centre in Nanaimo! Please bring clean teddy bears that will get tossed after the first Steelmen goal.
Not sure on who the Nanaimo Steelmen are? The Nanaimo Steelmen Sr.AA hockey club is the highest level of competitive hockey in BC outside of the professional ranks with 21 active Senior hockey teams scattered around the province. Despite being labelled as “non-professional,” our team has a handful of NHL draft picks and many former collegiate, minor-pro, and standout Junior hockey players on our roster for this coming season. All of our players are also local to Vancouver Island as we do our best to promote and give local talent a place to continue playing at a competitive level for as long as they can.
