COED DEVELOPMENT CAMP

Designed to enhance skills and build teamwork, this camp offers an engaging and educational experience on the ice. Over five days, participants will benefit from focused ice time and camaraderie, making it an excellent opportunity for growth and fun.
Join us at NIC 1 for a summer of skill development and lasting memories!We are happy to once again offer our Summer Development Camp in July. On ice lead instructors will be experienced ex junior, university and professional coaches. This camp will consist of skills and drills along with small area games and scrimmages throughout the week. Each session will be tailored to the skill level of the group on the ice.
Groups will be a maximin of 26 skaters and 4 goalies. We look forward to seeing you this summer.

SUMMER PREP CAMPS
CONDITIONING CAMP – 4 DAYS/1 ICE TIME PER DAY AUG 11-14
Get a head start on the upcoming hockey season with our Summer Prep Camps at Nanaimo Minor Hockey Association. These specialized pre-season camps are designed to elevate your performance, fine-tune your skills, and prepare you for tryouts with confidence.
Our Conditioning Camp, held the week before minor hockey tryouts, offers a high-energy on-ice environment focused on conditioning, flow drills, and game readiness. This camp is your opportunity to sharpen your abilities and be in peak condition for the competitive season ahead.

OFF ICE SHOOTING AND SCORING TRAINING
STAY TUNED FOR THE UPCOMING SEASON INFORMATION
We will focus on the technique of the different shots and be sure to touch on wrist, snap, slap and backhand shots during the program. We will also work on different scoring scenarios, shooting from angles, through and around obstacles and shooting in motion as some examples.
Sessions will be led by our Director of Hockey, Matt Hughes along with other guest instructors at each session.
This is a great opportunity for players to work on their shot in a pressure free environment and ask for tips on anything they want to work on.

COED FLOOR HOCKEY 2026
Nanaimo MHA is excited to announce our 3 on 3 Floor Hockey program, this is a casual one-hour session every Wednesday @ 3:30-4:30pm NIC 1, TBA FOR 2026
The dry floor will be split into 3 sections with 2 teams per division, with teams being selected randomly at each session.
Instructors will be on the floor to coordinate each group and referee. This is a fun program meant to enhance your hockey skills, no scorekeeping, or stats! Just pure FUN, street hockey; indoors!
Note: Players are to be wearing helmets w/facemasks, gloves and elbow pads, pinnies will be handed out, so ensure they are wearing a long sleeve t-shirt style or jersey and good running shoes that can be tied securely. MUST have water bottle and floor hockey stick too!

Spring Scrub Hockey offers a unique opportunity to blend FUN with teamwork in a vibrant springtime environment.

GIRLS DISCOVER HOCKEY
6 WEEK Introductory Hockey Program for girls with little or no hockey experience!
Full Hockey gear is required as per Hockey Canada regulation.
2016 and above players, please note you must have only played hockey for 0-2 years, we are looking for players who are new to the game.
