Online Criminal Record Check

NMHA requires that ALL team staff have current Criminal Record Checks viewed and recorded by the NMHA office prior to working with the players in any capacity  – yearly.

The process generally involves the following steps:

1. Access the RCMP’s Online Criminal Record Check Service: Visit the official RCMP website or the BC government website to find the link to the online criminal record check service. You may need to create an account or log in if you already have one.
2. Choose the Type of Check: There are different types of criminal record checks, such as “Employment,” “Volunteer,” or “Visa/Foreign Travel.” Select the Volunteer type based on your purpose for the check.
3. Personal Information: Fill in your personal details, including your full name, date of birth, address, contact information, and any other required identification information.
4. Consent and Certification: You’ll likely need to read and agree to the terms and conditions, as well as provide a digital signature to certify that the information you provide is accurate.
5. Payment: There may be a fee associated with the criminal record check. Covered via the password above. So you should not have to pay anything.
6. Verification of Identity: You may be required to verify your identity through a secure online process. This could involve answering security questions or providing other identification documents.
7. Processing Time: The processing time for a criminal record check can vary. It may take a few days to several weeks, depending on the type of check and the volume of requests.
8. Receive the Results: Once the criminal record check is processed, you will receive the results through the online portal. If you have requested a physical copy, it may be mailed to the address you provided.
9. Review the Results: Review the results of the criminal record check to ensure accuracy and that it meets your requirements.
